Food Matchmaker

As part of my environmental sustainability practice, I’m working on a new concept called Food Matchmaker.

Research phase
A technology solution to rescue food currently sent to landfills to feed New Yorkers battling food insecurity, reduce waste, and protect nature.

I’m currently interviewing stakeholders to understand the needs, resources, and challenges.

The preliminary set of stakeholders includes:

– Individuals and families
– Restaurants, bakeries, cafes, delis, and bodegas
-Grocers, supermarkets, and retailers
– Food service companies
– Farms
– Shelters, pantries, food banks, and other food distributors
– Government agencies and nonprofits focused on food, hunger, waste management, and environmental protection
